INDIGENOUS ART CENTRES
Indigenous Art Centres play an important role in Far North Queensland communities by providing opportunities for building skills and developing creative networks. They have a positive, welcoming atmosphere and are often meeting places for elders to share their knowledge and stories. There are 12 art centres and three hubs located throughout North Queensland, the Cape York Peninsula and the Torres Strait.
Indigenous Art Centres:
- Aurukun
- Mornington Island
- Lockhart River
- Kubin (Moa Island)
- Wujal Wujal

CIAF will play a pivotal role in building the Indigenous arts industry in Far North Queensland. By supporting newcomers and raising the profile of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander arts and culture, CIAF aims to deliver a level of sustainability to these remote communities.
