Cairns Indigenous Art Fair gives secondary students the chance to meet and learn from some of Australia's most exciting contemporary and traditional Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander artists.
On Friday 20 August, secondary students and teachers are invited to attend the Art Fair's schools program and be inspired by the personal stories of Queensland Indigenous artists - many of whom are from Far North Queensland - while learning more about the role of art and artists in maintaining and sharing culture, provoking political discussion and challenging stereotypes and racism.
The schools program will feature artist talks, a tour of the Art Fair and other activities. To register your interest email us today.
The schools program will be available from June. Teachers' notes and an Art Fair student activity book will be available in July.
